Fall Fun

Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather is cooling down, and anyone that knows me knows that I don't like the heat. But besides that I love the changing colors on the mountains. One of the things that the girls and I like to do is go to the Pumpkin Patch in Orem. They have alot of fun things for the kids to do and we also always pick out our pumpkins to carve.

Libby's Haircut

It was Sunday November 1st and Mallory had been sick that day, so she was lying on the couch most of the day. That evening after dinner Libby was in the girls room playing by herself. I remember thinking to myself that she had sure been good about entertaining herself all day since Mallory wasn't feeling well. Then she came out. I didn't notice at first (because there were still big clumps of long hair that she had missed) then I said "Libby what were you thinking" and in a very cute Innocent voice she replied "I just wanted to look like you Mommy". Shawn started to laugh and said you can't get mad at that. Which he was right. Then I relized it was Sunday night and there was nowhere I could go to get her hair fixed before school the next morning. Well I did the best I could to make her presentable and then right after school we went to get a real hair cut.

Since this little experience many people have thanked us, especially their school teacher because now they can tell the girls apart. I just tell them that I can't take credit for it.

Libby & Mallory's First Day of School

OK I know that the school year is almost over so I'm sure that most of you are wondering why I am writing about it now. Well I always say better late then never, I am going to try very hard to catch up with this year and be much better going forward, since I am sure you are all dying to see what is going on in the Richards life.
Libby and Mallory started Kindergarten on August 27, 2009 They are in Mrs. LeBaron's class at Hidden Hollow Elementary. The girls were so excited to start school, I as their mother can not say the same. In fact when we were at the school I started to cry so hard that Shawn said he was going to send me back to the van to sit so I wouldn't scare the girls. I was much better when I picked them up and saw how excited they were and how much fun they had. Libby's first thing she said to me was "Mom what outfit am I going to wear tomorrow?" She is such a girl.

Libby & Mallory's Disneyland Birthday

Shawn and I have been planning Libby and Mallorys 5th birthday for the past year and a half. We wanted to take them to Disneyland when they turned 5. Maybe I should say that I wanted to take them to Disneyland. Shawn had never been and really didn't have a great desire to go but he was a good sport and we all had a great time. It was really great that it turned out that this year the promotion was that you got in free on your birthday.
We left on January 3rd and stayed in Las Vegas. Randy Shawn's brother and his family live there so we visted with them and the girls had fun playing with their cousins, they love there cousin Jared who is a year older then them. You could just hear the three of them in the other room and Libby and Mallory were just giggling and giggling. They just think that Jared is sooo funny.

The next morning we left for Anaheim and the Party began.

Libby and Mallory's favorite part of the whole Disneyland experience was seeing all the characters. I have always loved Disneyland but it really is a different with kids. It was so fun to see thier excitement. Mallory would just jump and down she could hardly contain herself and when Libby would get up to on of them she would run and hug them it was so cute.
On Wednesday January 7th the girls turned 5 and we got Mallory a Cinderella out fit and Libby a Snow White outfit and ofcourse they loved them.
The hightlight of the birthday was being able to goto the Princess lunch at Ariels Gratto. They were able to meet thier favorite princesses and Libby and Mallory were in heaven.

Summer Fun

This summer Libby, Mallory and I had a lot of fun doing lots of different activities. I wanted to make up for the lack of fun we had last summer when I wasn't feeling well. We went with some friends from the neighborhood to the weekly kiddie matinee at the theater in A.F. We had a season pass to Thanksgiving Point and there is tons of stuff to do there like visit thd Farm Country, Children's Discovery Garden and the dinosaur museum.
Some of us moms in the neighborhood have formed a group called "Mommies On the Go" and we did monthly activities with our kids. We went to an Owlz baseball game, had a water fun day, and played at the Noah's Ark fountain at Thanksgiving Point.
Here are a few pictures from our fun summer.
